Stepping out of the burrow

We did something very out of character for us; we went to a very informal munch. Now generally we don't do those sorts of things. Most of them involve hours of driving and frankly, we don't care enough to want to drive all that way, 'cos round here hours of driving will take you hundreds of kilometres away. No one cares enough to drive that far to be in a room full of strangers... well we don't at any rate.

This was different and it's all kaya's fault. She commented on someone's writing, which led one to look at their profile and notice that they were attending drinks down the road. So being the nosiest person on earth, one mentioned it to Him. His response was classic introvert; why do we want to do that?
It might be interesting, besides if you hate it we can leave and get some dinner together
Yes, one small slave had to resort to food bribes... it's usually the other way round

Anyway we went with very low expectations. We have both been involved with scenes before; Him the performance arts and one small slave the lesbian community. Both groups are not known around this state for their open friendliness. Well the arts are more inclined to snooty vetting, the lesbians towards outright cold shoulders, but that is not what this is about. This is about a nice, friendly bunch of kinksters...

If you were inclined to become scene orientated they are your gateway drug. They were very friendly and curious and inclined to ask questions that illustrated how far apart we are as groups of people, usually in language that drove home how some of those discussions go so awry on line. It was a bit like trying to pick words out of a bag and have a conversation with them. It might have worked for David Bowie when he was writing songs, but for conversations it was a little more fraught. We will return to some of those issues a little later though, as time is short at the moment.

What one will say is that if you were about to stick your toe into uncharted waters, you couldn't hope for a more convivial bunch to start you off. That is not to say that behind the faces isn't all sorts of drama, which happens in any group, but finding that stuff out is half the fun... well for a people watcher at any rate
And should they ever have drinks down the road again, we would probably drive the five minutes that it takes :D

The unfairness principle

That damn skirt, which has given some of you so much mirth or nightmares depending on your circumstances, seems to have inspired some general whit...
On the wall at Fet...
"As "embarrassingly printed skirts" are added to dozens of hard limits lists...."
ancilla_ksst

You know one could fight fire with fire. They do have a charming selection of stuff for men. The difference is that He would refuse to wear his. Not only would it void one's contending the title of most tasteless gift, but he would probably squash the idea by refusing to purchase the damn thing in the first place (it's his accounts that are used for online purchases).
Or worse still, He might decide to wear it and insist that one accompany him, in public...

Sighs this is not a level playing field

Family traditions

Can we raise the bad taste present to $20 He asked, sticking his head into the study...

Now before we go any further with this a little background should be shared. It all started one Christmas, when feeling even less like celebrating the day than normal, it was decided that a bad taste Christmas present would be fun. It had to be $10 or less, it had to be practical and usable and most importantly of all, it had to be in bad taste. Over time it became very competitive and most participants admitted that they got far more pleasure shopping for it, than they did the actual Christmas presents.
And over the years there have been some spectacular wins... yes it was that competitive.
His mother took it out one year with a present for Him; a gold coloured book mark shaped like tiny open bibles strung together and engraved with the Lord's Prayer. Not only was it tacky to look at, but also ironic giving it to the resident atheist. Add to which the damn thing warped the book pages if used. It was a win on so many levels we conceded defeat unanimously.
Anyway back to the beginning of this tale...

Why one asked, with deepening suspicion. After all the whole point of the low cost was that it added an extra layer of difficulty. Anyone can buy bad taste with money... doing it on a budget is much harder.
Um I've found the winner for this year He replied, but it is more than $10
Although one is going to regret asking this, what is it?
Here I'll show you He said...

Oh look at that, it's on sale He crowed. It's only $10
Um... if one is willing to concede defeat, would you consider not purchasing that?
No. I want you to wear it as well. It's not practical if you won't use it, He added.
Sighs where is The SPS (slave protection society) when you need them. This has to be a clear violation of some basic right :(

What lies beneath

There is nothing like retro inspired foundation garments...

In fact He liked it so much that there is a black one on its way :)

The death of a Monday

Our vanillas have moved to a new house. It was a move that was precipitated by their latest addition, a baby girl who has the men wrapped around her tiny fist already. In the wake of the move he has taken up smoking once again due to the stress. Basically he did the move with only the help of his brother, as she isn't allowed to lift anything heavier than the baby.

Apart from that they seem to have adjusted to their new digs quite well. Well apart from the garage that is. That room looks like a cyclone of boxes hit. So being the good friends that we are, we volunteered to come over next Monday to help sort it out and help him set up their gym again. It seems to be the only thing that helps keep the smoking in check.

Now at the time of this volunteering one was not feeling completely without ulterior motivation. See we had gone over there to have a BBQ and play a few games. By that time we had been at it for nearly four hours (of what would be 12) and the arse was numb. And next week we are gaming all Sunday. The prospect of two days of gaming in a row was making one far more helpful than normal.

The cunning plan was going along swimmingly until He blabbed that one had never played "Settlers of Catan". His mini me is a huge fan. Has every game of it ever invented one suspects. So does his brother.
Oh we will all have to play next week he cried.
Um... we are doing your gym one reminded gently, with only a hint of desperation in the voice
Pffft! he declared, waving the reminder aside

Sighs you watch, we will get there and that bloody garage will be spotless to make room for the damned game :(
