After all...

Tomorrow is another day.
And frankly it can't come fast enough.

And this...

Is how I feel when you read Fet He declared
What is?
This He said pointing to yesterday's blog post and reading (well more paraphrasing)...
How am I supposed to master you when you get ideas from others?

Now He was just joking and never underestimate that flair for drama, but he does have a point. None of the things learnt on Fet are exactly conducive to this relationship. And ideas are strange, insidious things. They worm into your unconscious mind and then pop up when you least expect them.

Ironically one of the memes floating around Fet at the moment is beware the person who tries to cut you off from outside sources for they are without doubt a predator. And they are probably right, but...
Really one can see why you would. Dealing with the constant barrage of contrary information would be exhausting, especially in a newer relationship.

Sighs guess this is why we always say do not do these sorts of relationships with someone you don't know very well

Conversations with the cat

While one was getting His shirt in, the cat nipped through the door with its own high expectations of service in the form of dinner. Unfortunately one was in the middle of reading something so ignored her... you know cat, lower on the pecking order. Sadly the cat had not got that memo and pursued one into the study to put forth its case for consideration.

Needless to say it finally won its argument. First it sat on the desk, then the paw reached out to bat the face, then the claws appeared, then it reached for the dressing gown... the padding of which might have made one a little braver than normal. Now, one did hang in there. The appearance of the claws was just as one was finishing reading the thread; moving was not bowing to intimidation.

A fact that one did go to great pains to explain that to the cat while going into the kitchen, where it followed to take up a guard position in front of the fridge, as one went to get scissors. Realising that it was about to gets its demands met, it was even prepared to feign interest in one's lecture about being largely immune to both its charms and its persuasion techniques, and how one was far too stubborn to give in that easily and that intimidation was not a good motivator...
When He wandered out of the bathroom and turned to the cat and said, but she does respond to pain quite well.

Sighs how is one ever going to achieve mastery over Satan's spawn our beloved pet if He keeps feeding the enemy our beloved pet information like that? They understand a lot more than they let on...

Dealing with the inner child

Oh one spoilt you while out shopping
You did He said, perking with a child like interest
Yes indeed. Fresh blueberries for your pancakes on Monday
Woo hoo was the excited reply from the study
Yes, one does spoil you

They were cheap weren't they, He said with a tone of deep suspicion
Well they have come down in price, but the cost of the spoiling does not change the act
Yes, but paying $10 (which is what they have been of late for a small punnet) is really spoiling me He countered. This was the price dropping to a reasonable range and you buying them

This was most definitely you being spoilt. When the price goes back up next week and you get frozen berries again...
You will realise how much

Sighs honestly...

Relief of a different kind

At the moment our lawns are brown. A sensible thing in this climate would be to put in drought proof gardens and do away with concepts such as green lawns, but as this place was largely settled by the British and people tend to cling to what they know and replicate it, there are lawns. Vast useless stretches of green that, while pretty and soothing to look at, are impossible to maintain in a place that practises water restrictions. This is what one was mulling over while scuttling home at 7.30 last night, having missed the earlier bus due to a customer who just couldn't decide between products A or B, nursing the vestiges of yet another bloody migraine.

The arid nature of this month is what contributes to this rotten run of headaches and migraines. Everything gets too dry, people included. It was while slathering on another layer of moisturiser that one heard a magic sound. It was the gentle fall of rain on a tin roof. Oh not enough to do any real good, but enough to raise the moisture content of the air and enough to make the head clear for a few merciful hours.

In this world you take what you can get :D

The very definition of hell

Going back to work with other people
It sucks!
