Or oh crap, how did one forget that again???
When we met one of the first hurdles that we surmounted was
this day. Oh it's not that it's hard or anything, it was just our first case of
dissonance on the road of togetherness. That is to say He likes to mark the day,
while one thinks that it is a Hallmark occasion devoted to selling product. In
fact that discord continued throughout our time together...
There was one memorable occasion when one went out after
finishing night shift for coffee and snacks with the crew, only to come home
and find Him in bed with a beautiful picnic spread out on the bed for us.
Sighs second breakfasts the body will accept, second
dinners... not so much :(
When we moved to this relationship style one thought cool,
no more Valentines. That thought was not out loud or anything, just quietly
thought, hopped, dreamed. After all we could make this relationship anything we
wanted. It seems one was wrong in that thought. 'Cos every once in a while He
drags it out of the closet... the little romantic that he is... to beat one
with it. You, gentle reader, are thinking oh what a drama princess she is
being, but let's look at this shall we...
This year He bought a beautiful charm for the bracelet...
Well the reality is bracelets. Since losing so much weight
there had to be a much smaller bracelet and there were too many charms to fit
on one, so now are now two of them. It looks terribly gaudy. Anyway back to
this...
At the time one said well no doubt there will be some little
game that you fancy and one will buy it for you.
You're all sitting there thinking that's not very romantic
aren't you...
But here is the reality. Traditionally you buy chocolates or
flowers or jewellery or lingerie or sex toys on this day. He is on a no
chocolate thing, flowers don't last more than a day in this heat, he doesn't
wear jewellery and there are boxes of the other things, many of them still unused,
littering our tiny domicile.
Mutters though the knickers might be getting an airing this
winter...
Even if this wasn't the case when is one supposed to sneak
off to buy this mysterious gift? The reality is that we are joined at the hip.
There is no shopping alone around here. So the best that one could do was, well
the game mentioned above. Except of course life just isn't that simple.
So today dawned...
With Him chirping Happy Valentine's Day
And one small slave going oh crap...
